 BREEDING FACILITIES
Our three winning stallions are accompanied by a full service breeding facility. Starland's breeding barn houses an advanced AI breeding lab. For the convenience of our clients we offer a shipped semen service. If you prefer to transport your mare on site, our facilities include covered mare shelters, paddocks and pastures. Potential clients are welcome to visit and tour the facilities. You and your mares can rest easy, as we pride ourselves on having the best quality of prenatal and postnatal care.
 To ensure the highest caliber Tennessee Walking Horses are born out of our breeding program, we enforce a select breeding policy. Through our experience we have discovered the importance of analyzing the genetic qualities of the mare candidate and prospective stallion together. We consider all elements of conformation, geneology, temperament, gait, and show history before deciding a match. In the process of breeding approval we request a pedigree and video of the mare candidate. Furthermore, we limit our breeding to thirty mares bred yearly to each Stallion. (Explain this in the favor of the client) A Starland Farm stallion video is available upon request.
The terms in our signed breeding contract require the following:
- 1/2 of the fee at time of booking, with the remainder due when the mare is declared to be in foal.
- $150 fee for each extraction and shipment of semen, where applicable.
- Negative coggins on all mares.
- Negative culture on all open mares.
