Description

• Seat Style and Size: 21 inches (measured from center of the front rivet to back of cantle).  It has a DEEP seat.

• Identification:  Left and rights sides have a manufactures plate.  The plate says,  "Quality Whitman Saddles".  On both sides of the saddle under-billet flap, there the manufactures embossed identification and serial number stamped into the leather.  It has "42002S", "Whitman" and "made in the USA".  There are four pommel rivets that have the "Whitman" insignia. 

• Color and Material: The saddle is black in color.  This saddle is handcrafted from beautiful top grained leather which displays the beauty of the natural grain and possesses superior durability.  The seat is made of suede which offers the utmost grip.  

• Tree size: Normal (10 1/2" between tree bar rivets) Normally this measurment would be considered wide; however the distance between tree-bar rivet and pommel rivet is a little longer than most trees.  Therefore, it's geometry is still "normal".  

• Stirrup bars: Saddle has fixed stirrup bars.  

• Billets: There are 4 billets on each side and are made from chrome tanned leather which is the best-of-the-best in billet leather.

• Accessories: Saddle DOES NOT come with accessories (no stirrups).

• Value:  This saddle sold new for $1200.00 or more.

Condition of the Used Saddle

• Condition of the Leather:  The leather is in absolutely PERFECT condition!  The leather only shows minimal use (maybe like one show season).  The leather is well conditioned, meticulously cared for and stored indoors.  

• Any blemishes on the saddle:  YES!  There are some superficial scratches on the left side near the pommel; I have provided a picture.  There are minimal stirrup-leather impressions on the flap where the stirrups hang; which indicates the saddle was used very little. 

• Tree:  The tree is solid and sound.  I flex the tree laterally and twist diagonally to check for soundness.  As I said, the tree is rock solid.  

• Billets: All eight (8) billets are fully functional and are in like new condition.  There are NOMINAL buckle impressions; in fact it appears that four of the billets were NEVER used.
