This is a rare opportunity to own one of the most popular saddles of yesterday and today.  This particular Whitman is in high demand because they are hard to find.  You have the adjustable stirrup bars for better leg/seat positioning, a deep seat for support, made from bridle leather for a exquisite show ring appearance AND you have the Schrump leather seat for grip and security.  It's what everyone wants for the upcoming National competitions. NOTE:  I rate my used saddles as LIKE NEW, EXCELLENT, VERY GOOD and GOOD.  This saddle rates in EXCELLENT/LIKE NEW condition.

Description

• Seat Style and Size: 20 inches (measured from center of the front rivet to back of cantle).  It has a deep/equitation seat.

• Identification:  Left and rights sides have a manufactures plate.  The plate says,  "Quality Whitman Saddles".  On both sides of the saddle under-billet flap, there is a serial number stamped into the leather, "41479S".  It also says "made in the USA".  There are four pommel rivets that have the "Whitman" insignia.. 

• Color and Material: The saddle is havana brown in color.  This saddle is handcrafted from beautiful bridle leather which has a nice smooth hi-polish appearance for that superior show ring presentation.  The seat is made from Schrump leather.  Schrump leather is leather that has been textured or embossed for superior grip, security and durability.

• Tree size: Standard/Medium (9 3/4" between tree bar rivets) which makes it suitable for many breeds.  

• Stirrup bars: Saddle has infinite-position adjustable stirrup bars.  You just turn the two knurled nuts for adjustment.  This saddle is the "Crab-tree" model which has snaps on the skirt to keep them in position..    

• Billets: The billets are made from chrome tanned leather which is the best-of-the-best in billet leather.  PLUS Whitman provides four (4) billets per side.  NOTICE that the previous owner primarily used two billets from each side; other 4 are like brand new!!

• Accessories: Saddle comes with stirrups and leathers.  Stirrup leathers are not in great condition and stirrups are 4 1/4" wide.

• Value:  A comparable saddle such as the Norman or Blue Ribbon would cost $1500-$1800.00 new.

Condition of the Used Saddle

• Condition of the Leather:  The leather is in absolutely PERFECT condition!  The leather only shows minimal use (maybe like two show seasons).  The leather is well conditioned and meticulously cared for.  

• Any blemishes on the saddle:  There are no cracks or tears in the leather.  There are faint stirrup leather impressions but is expected with any lightly used saddle.  Because of the smooth bridle leather, if you look hard enough, you can see very faint impressions but nothing of ANY significance.  

• Tree:  The tree is solid and sound.  I flex the tree laterally and twist diagonally to check for soundness.  As I said, the tree is rock solid.  

• Billets: All eight (8) billets are fully functional and are in like new condition.  There are buckle impressions; but the billets are not stretched which indicates minimal use.
